Education and Access Control
Many schools have perimeter fencing and gates that secure their site out of school hours but during school opening hours doors are free to access by all. It is no wonder that over the last decade, we have seen an increasing number of circumstances where the safety of children has been brought into question.
With this increase in awareness and parent concern about the safe guarding of their children, Ofsted have had no other option than to intervene on the matter and raise the bar on security procedures in schools. The last thing any school wants is a security breaching incident occurring at their school.
Ofsted Recommendations
Working to meet the requirements set by Ofsted our access control system VMAccess works by managing your on site security. It keeps unauthorised persons from roaming around your school and stops vulnerable children from wandering off school premises at the same time.
You can give individual permissions through doors on your site so each card user has unique permissions throughout the school. This allows you to control who has access through which doors and allows you to issue cards to community groups that may also use part of your site for activities.
The system can also be set to over-ride doors at break times, lunch periods and for events such as parents evenings, as well as linking it in to your fire alarm system so it auto releases in an emergency.
Integrating VMAccess in to your school will not only increase your security but it will make your school a friendlier and safer place to work and will be a shining example for parents considering school preferences for their children.
With the summer break fast approaching there is no better time to start thinking about installing an access control system in your school and to make a start in improving the security on your site. Please get in touch to discuss your options.
